Question:
There are so many different views out there… I just want to know the truth. Who really is God? And how do I know I’m actually walking in the right direction with my faith?

Answer:
Hi William, thank you for your question.
With so many beliefs out there—how do we even begin? #
Honestly? It is overwhelming. Hinduism says many gods. Islam says one god, but distant. Buddhism says no god, just awareness. Atheism says none at all. And then there’s Christianity saying: God came down and walked with us.
Here’s where things shift—Christianity doesn’t begin with our search for God, but God’s search for us.
John 1:14 — “And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we actually saw His glory, glory as belongs to the one and only begotten Son of the Father, the Son who is truly unique, the only one of His kind, who is full of grace and truth.”
No other religion makes this claim: that God entered time, took on flesh, and bore our sin. Not as a prophet. Not as a guru. Not as an angel. But as God Himself.
What sets Jesus apart? #
This isn’t about comparing “better morals” or “nicer temples.” The question is: Who do you say Jesus is? Even other religions admit He was wise or special. But Jesus didn’t leave room for neutral opinions.
John 14:6 — “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”
It’s either true or insane. But you can’t call Him just a “good teacher” and ignore a claim like that.
So how do I know I’m not being deceived? #
Great question. God never asks for blind faith. Biblical faith is relational trust—not just mental agreement.
1 John 5:12–13 — “He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Saviour] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you have eternal life.”
Jesus doesn’t offer you just a new religion. He offers you Himself. That’s the difference. He doesn’t say, “Follow these 5 steps and maybe you’ll reach God.” He says, “Follow Me—I am God coming for you.”
Final word #
You don’t have to figure it all out today. But if there’s a tug in your heart toward Jesus, that’s not religion—it’s invitation.
John 10:27–28 — “The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.”
He’s not inviting you into a system. He’s calling you into a relationship. A love so personal that God would rather die than live without you.
Thanks again for the question. If you’re still wrestling with things, that’s okay—just start with Jesus. All truth flows from there.
