How Can an Adamic Man Be Raised If Flesh Cannot Inherit the Kingdom?

2 min read

“Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:50 (AMP)

This is a key concern: if Adamic nature is corrupt, how can Old Testament saints—who died in Adam—be raised?

Understand “Flesh and Blood” Biblically #

The phrase “flesh and blood” does not simply mean a physical body. In Jewish idiom and Pauline theology, it often represents:

  • The Adamic order of corruption.
  • A life driven by natural strength, not the Spirit.
  • The unregenerate, earthly nature.

So, Paul is not saying that physical substance cannot be raised. Rather, he is saying:

The Adamic identity—corrupted flesh—cannot inherit the Kingdom.

It must be transformed.

Old Testament Saints: Their Faith Looked Forward #

  • They died in hope of the promise (Hebrews 11:13–16).
  • Though they did not receive the full New Covenant, they were justified by faith.
  • Their spirits were made perfect through the blood of Christ (Hebrews 12:23).

At Christ’s death, He descended and preached to the spirits in prison (1 Peter 3:19)—bringing them out of Hades, fulfilling:

“You will not leave My soul in Sheol.” — Psalm 16:10 (AMP)

Then, at His resurrection, some were raised with glorified bodies to enter the heavenly Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22–24).

We affirm with joy:

  • Yes, Christ is in us now.
  • Yes, we live in the age of fulfilled kingdom reality.
  • Yes, the Old Covenant is gone.
  • But also, yes—we await the redemption of our body, the transformation of our mortal flesh, and the full unveiling of our glorified state.

Let us not lose the balance: the inward reality is the seed; the outward transformation is the fruit. One day, death will be no more—not just legally, but visibly and cosmically.

“And when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the Scripture will be fulfilled…”
— 1 Corinthians 15:54 (AMP)

In Christ,
Shaliach.
